My Birthday Purse

Okay, so. Last weekend was my birthday. We were travelling so we didn't really do anything.  We celebrated this weekend instead.  We went out to dinner last night then saw The Importance of Being Earnest.  Today TWH took me to get my birthday present.  When he asked me ( all FOUR times) what I wanted for my birthday, I told him "A new Coach Purse".  I had one I'd bought last year that looked like this:

And I managed to cram it FULL of THIS:

So today we went down to the Coach Outlet (because I'm not willing to pay full price) and I picked one out.   It's a good size & has a ton of pockets.

Aaaaaaaannnnnndddd.... I bought a Diaper Bag.  Yep, you read that right. My brand new full of awesome purse turned out to be a fancy, schmancy, diaper bag.  My first clue was THIS:

A CHANGING PAD!!!  There was a changing pad in my new purse!!  That coupled with the weirdly unfashionable shoulder strap you see hanging out of the bag led me to look more closely at my new purse.  See those pockets in the picture above??  They're for BOTTLES!!  There's also a pocket for my cell phone, and other pockets for crap like wipes and a change of clothes.

Did I care??  HELL NO!!  My new purse IS full of awesome!!  It's big & has a shit-ton of pockets for all my stuff.  I LOVE to have an organized purse.  A pocket for everything & everything in it's pocket.

The best part is, I still have extra pockets!!  I can cram more crap into it!!  With my trips to Non-Con & Virginia coming up, that's gonna be a huge bonus!!

I'm gonna rock my diaper purse like a BOSS!! Like. A. Boss!!

  1. THIS IS THE BEST !!!! and yes, it is full of all kinda awesomeness! I love luggage but draw the line at carrying a "murse" so the envy I have in you having all of those pockets just to stash "stuff" is so very real. Rock It and DARE anyone to disparage it.

  2. That's just too funny. Who cares, though? It's a GREAT bag.

    1. It IS a great bag. I honestly didn't know it was a diaper bag until I got it home and pulled all the paper out. I guess if I come across a particularly nasty seat, that changing pad will come in handy.

    1. I'm keeping it in case I come across a "Bus Pants" type of situation.

  4. It's not a changing pad, it's a seat cushion for the metal bleachers at a sporting event.

    1. Thank you Mimi!! I didn't know they made diaper bags either. Until I accidentally bought one. I haven't looked for one since I got pregnant with Miss A. I can't wait to see just how much stuff that sucker will hold. My first trial run will be this Thursday.

  6. I have totally made that same mistake before. And you're all right. Who the eff cares?!? If you can fit your Chapstick, lip gloss, makeup, wallet, coupons, receipts, kids toys, reading glasses, sunglasses, Kleenex, phone, smokes, change of clothes (or at least underwear), a seat cover for the nasties, and a sandwich in there with room to spare AND have it not look like you've stuffed all of that in there... You fucking win!
Plus - it's cute! Who cares? Anybody that knows it's a diaper bag (that you don't tell. That would inadvertently fall out of my mouth anytime someone complimented it) obviously spends too much money on things they'll only use for a year. And in that case - you should ask to go shopping in their closet...

  7. I will probably tell ANYONE who comments on my purse that it's actually a diaper bag. I'm ridiculously honest like that. I can't WAIT to see how much shit I can actually cram into that fucker.
